چکیده

A new method based on the concept of probability distribution is proposed to analyze the finite volume energy spectrum in lattice QCD. Using synthetic lattice data, we demonstrate that for the channel with quantum numbers of the ∆-resonance a clear resonance structure emerges in such an analysis. Consequently, measuring the volume-dependence of the energy levels in lattice QCD will allow to determine the mass and the width of the ∆ with reasonable accuracy. Blood Flow Simulation in an Aorta with a mild coarctation Using Magnetic Resonance Angiography and Finite Volume Method

Coarctation of the aorta is one of the five main congenital cardiovascular failures, accounting for 6–8 percent of these failures. This research aimed to simulate the blood flow of a seventeen-year-old male teen with a mild coarctation at one-third of his aorta's descending branch. The simulation was performed by extracting the domain and the input pulsatile velocity signal as the boundary cond...

The ∆-resonance in a finite volume#1

We study the extraction of ∆-resonance parameters from lattice data for small quark masses, corresponding to the case of an unstable ∆. To this end, we calculate the spectrum of the correlator of two ∆-fields in a finite Euclidian box up-to-and-includingO(ǫ) in the small scale expansion using infrared regularization. On the basis of our numerical study, we argue that the extraction of the param...

The mass of the ∆ resonance in a finite volume : fourth - order calculation February 13 , 2009

We calculate the self-energy of the ∆(1232) resonance in a finite volume, using chiral effective field theory with explicit spin-3/2 fields. The calculations are performed up-to-and-including fourth order in the small scale expansion and yield an explicit parameterization of the energy spectrum of the interacting pion-nucleon pair in a finite box in terms of both the quark mass and the box size...

3-D RF Coil Design Considerations for MRI

High-frequency coils are widely used in medical applications, such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) systems. A typical medical MRI includes a local radio frequency transmit/receive coil. This coil is designed for maximum energy transfer or wave transfer through magnetic resonance. Mutual inductance is a dynamic parameter that determines the energy quantity to be transferred wirelessly by ele...

Properties of the ρ Resonance from ππ Elastic Scattering and the Spectrum of Excited ρ Mesons Using the Stochastic LapH Method in Lattice QCD

Inclusion of multi-meson operators allows lattice QCD calculations to extract energies of resonances above two-meson thresholds, as well as to study two-meson scattering. Previously, temporal correlations involving multi-hadron operators were difficult to evaluate due to contributions from quark propagators which begin and end on the same time slice. The stochastic LapH method allows for effici...
